We are keen gardeners, and, as with gardeners everywhere, we always have some project on the go. We don't offer a garden that is perfect, because it's a working garden and we have to cope with the same weather and pest problems as all gardeners, but we encourage guests to explore, to relax, to offer advice, and to join in our own argument as to whether hostas are at all attractive. There are fish in the pond. We challenge you to calculate how many!

Ellistrin is on the edge of Hawick and a short walk from our back gate takes you through greenery to the top of a hill (in the Miller's Knowes Park) which provides a panoramic view over the town. Guests are welcome to bring their dog with them, but please let us know in advance so we can warn our dog, Guinness, that he's to have company.
